Inland Marine Insurance

Hiscox Inland Marine Insurance offers coverage for a wide range of inland marine and related property risks. This coverage is primarily offered on individual risks submitted through wholesale and select retail producers. Hiscox has the capability and interest in developing a select number of Inland Marine Program opportunities through experienced MGAs.

Property coverages can be combined with Inland Marine coverages using Hiscox proprietary forms or manuscript coverage language that is reviewed and mutually agreed upon prior to binding.

Target classes for this coverage

Hiscox will consider all types of Inland Marine coverages, including but not limited to:

  • Motor Truck Cargo - All types of motor carriers and commodities (brochure)
  • Construction and Mobile Equipment - Any type, including construction and port cranes, backhoes, loaders, land based energy servicing equipment (brochure)
  • Vehicle Physical Damage - Tractors and trailers, buses, ambulances, fire trucks, ready mix units, dump trucks (brochure)
  • Mining Operations - Processing plants, loading facilities, draglines, long wall and continuous miners, concrete pumping units
  • Warehouse Legal Liability - Goods of others in the possession of a warehouse operator or logistics provider
  • Leased Property - Single or dual interest
  • Miscellaneous Property - Mobile MRI or CAT Scanners, computer equipment, property while being moved or hoisted by the insured
  • Agricultural and Construction Equipment Dealers, Automobile Dealers - Inventory and fixed property
  • Railroads - Freight and passenger (fixed property and rolling stock)
  • Unique and unusual risks.

Cargo theft is a concern for the trucking industry. To minimize losses and increase chances of recovery of your insured's property Hiscox is proud to be a Charter member of CargoNet™. CargoNet works with law enforcement, insurers, transportation companies, manufacturers and retailers in the investigation and recovery of stolen property.
